Q:
I have witnessed the transformation with our nations airports from private security to government employees. It hasn't been a perfectly smooth transition (they seldom are ). Prior to 9/11 all airports employed private companies to perform security in the airports, often times this resulted in different policies and procedures being implemented at each airport, which is confusing for the traveling public. Now that the security is run by one agency (in most major airports), there is conformity.
What are some of the other advantages or disadvantages of one agency providing security for all of our nations airports?
