In most states, only licensed psychologists can administer tests.
However, one area that does not regularly utilize such stringency is the testing of prospective employees. In some states (such as Oregon), employers can administer certain personality tests to prospective employees as part of the hiring process. In cases of pre-employment personality testing, it is not required that a licensed psychologist be involved in the process.
