Issues such as employee working conditions and pay could have been identified and brought to the attention of upper management and stakeholders to address with the local government to ensure issues were not only being addressed but resolved. With this type of approached Nike could have prevented the negative press they were receiving and actually defended themselves because they were being proactive instead of reactive. Create a high-level outline for what the ethics auditing process should look like at Nike. According to Krell, there are six steps to highly effective ethics audits: a detailed foundation, develop metrics, create a cross-functional team, audit efficiently, and respond consistently and communicate. Personally I would recommend that Nike follow the same six steps given to ensure their organization conduct effective audits.
