The purpose of the Final Paper is for you to culminate the learning achieved in the course by writing an 8-10 page paper that makes a compelling argument for quality physical education within the elementary school/early childhood setting. Focus of the Final Paper You will write an 8-10 page paper (excluding title and reference pages) that makes a compelling argument for quality physical education within the elementary school/early childhood setting. Discuss some of the current issues that teachers, parents, administrators as well as students themselves are faced with as they relate to providing and receiving quality physical education. Examples include: childhood obesity, budget constraints, family/home environment, teaching methods, assessment, etc. Additionally, your paper will include an action plan to provide quality physical education to your class. The action must detail how you will assess and improve the motor skills of children. Your plan must align with the Essential Components of Quality Programs as stated in your text. It is also required that your plan address the National Standards for Physical Education (N.A.S.P.E.). Your thoughts and ideas will be supported by credible and reliable resources. You are required to use your text as well as a minimum of two additional sources in this paper.
