Southwest Airlines Inc. is known for a highly motivated workforce. Most of us
have experienced their excellent customer service. Legendary charismatic Herb
Kallaher founded the airline and highly valued employees and motivated them. His
successor, Garyy Kelly has continued to do so.
Let us examine motivating the workforce at Southwest airlines.
Your task is to identify and analyze Southwest Airlines motivating strategies
by applying Maslow’s theory of hierarchy of needs and reinforcement theory:

Question 1
Are Southwest Airlines Inc. leadership and policies fulfilling Maslow’s needs
‘ theory stages?
Please apply Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to work motivation at Southwest
Airlines, showing how various levels are or are not being met by Southwest
Airlines Leadership and Human Resources Management.

Are the Southwest Airlines Inc. leadership and HRM applying concept of
Reinforcement Theory in order to motivate their employees?

Southwest Airlines, showing whether concepts of reinforcement theory are being
utilized Southwest Airlines Leadership and Human Resources Management

Is there a relationship between the success of Southwest Airlines, in the top
of best companies by Fortune for years, and the highly motivated workforce at
Southwest Airlines Inc?

In order to develop good business communication skills, it
is recommended you write papers using the following structure, using headlines
and titles.
Introduction (road map, explain main issue and list and
main questions/arguments)
Main Body: Develop each questions as a subsection, applying
theory to facts, in subsections (one subsection per question).
In this case, one short subsection to define required theories, one
subsection for question 1, one subsection for question 2,
etc.
Conclusions: Summarize main paper points
List of references.
