Visit the two sites listed below to learn about the main points of the No Child Left Behind Act that was instituted in 2001 as a part of IDEA. This act was created to ensure that students with exceptional needs received the actual services they were entitled to receive. In the past, schools received monies for these children, however, there was little or no accountability for how those funds were spent. While this remains a controversial act, children with exceptional needs are benefitting from its requirements.
