Other examples include encouraging parents to avoid over-competitive and aggressive behavior during sports, not allowing their child to play sports after being injured until medically cleared to return, and understanding the developmental limitations of children's behavior, and how to assist with homework. Strategies include offering sessions for parents where they can acquire skills for optimal communication with their children, providing written materials for families, meeting with families to discuss health and safety education programs, and encouraging families to discuss their expectations with their children. 5.
