The Scenario      The scenario that I decided to apply the classical conditioning theory to would be training my daughters dog to come down and eat when he hears the sound of his food being poured into his pan from the dispenser.  My daughter has a Yorkshire Terrier and he is very energetic and playful. When it is dinner time it always takes a while to get him to settle down to eat his food.  I was thinking that if I repeatedly compare the sound of his food hitting the bowl with dinner time he will be trained to come into the kitchen.  Typically we will leave his food in the bowl and he will come and get it when he is finished playing, but now I will only put it in the bowl when it is time to eat and take it up when dinner is over.  This will result in pairing the sound of the food falling into the pan with dinner time.
