Occupational/Personnel Tests
Occupational or personnel tests attempt to match an individual’s interests with the interests of persons in known careers. If the areas that interest an individual in life match up with interests in a particular career, it is assumed that you may do well in that career field, known as type testing (Richmond, 2009).  This category of testing has been used since World War I, as businesses began taking an active interest in testing job applicants (Gregory, 2010). Today, almost all government jobs necessitate a civil service examination.
Personality Tests
Personality tests attempt to measure the basic personality style and are most used in research or in clinical settings (Hogan, 2007). The two most well-known personality tests are the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, collected of ‘yes or no’ questions and the Rorschach (inkblot test), composed of cards of inkblots where an individual describes the images and feelings experienced when viewing the blots (Richmond, 2009). Additionally, some businesses are now using personality tests as a pre-employment process as they attempt to determine which individuals are best suited for their company.Â
Clinical Tests
Clinical tests are often conducted to attempt to measure specific clinical matters such as a level of depression or anxiety. These tests are used to classify and/or diagnose patients and are used extensively by psychologists (Hogan, 2007). Quite often personality tests, neuropsychological, and intelligence tests are all done as a part of clinical testing in an attempt to better understand and better treat each patient.

A chemical dispersing agent was used to clean the oil off the water surface; however, this substance causes the oil to bead into tiny droplets, which mix with the water, drop to the bottom, and falls on fish, fish eggs, and larvae (Sohn, 2009). The dispersants were also sprayed manually by boats, and aircrafts. Nonetheless, this method was unsuccessful because the chemical has a short working life, and leaves a toxic chemical in the water that creates more ecological problems.
