Q:

I think the Gross Domestic Product measures imports and exports. Like I just told Barbara and Scott the more information on this I receive from everyone's response the more confused I become. We were discussing used cars and if they are counted. Since we pay taxes on the used car when purchased from an individual when we go to title and tag it is it counted? And I was thinking that people who grow their own food and livestock would not be counted in the Gross Domestic Product Measure, but the feed they purchase to feed their livestock and the seeds to grow the food is counted is the livestock and food counted? I would think there would be no way to count the offspring of the livestock, but the purchase of the first animal would be since it would be purchased from a cattle ranch. There is a fine line on what is counted and what is not and there seems to be several items that are not illegal not being counted.
