In inductive research, general principles (theories) are formed from specific observations. In deductive inquiry, on the other hand, specific hypothesis are formed on the basis of general principles i.e. social scientists start from an existing theory and then search for proof.<br>Social research consists of two methods of conducting the research. Qualitative and Quantitative method. Quantitative method investigates what, when and where of decision making. It uses systematic scientific investigation in collection and analysis of data and deals with mathematical numbers and anything that is measurable. The result of the research is a number, or a series of numbers which is given in tables, graphs or other forms of statistics. Quantitative research is used in both the natural sciences and social sciences and is also used to research different areas of education.
