Q:
a 15kohm resistor and a capacitor are connected in series, and then a 12v potential difference is suddenly applied across them. The potential difference across the capacitor rises to 5V in 1.3us
a) calculate the time constant of the circuit
b) find the capacitance of the capacitor
answers: 2.41us, 161pF please explain.
A:
Preview: ... that after 1.3us the voltage across the capacitor is 5v. By replacing in the above formula we have: 5=12{1-e^[-(1.3×10^(-6))/(15×10^3×C)]} =>
5/12=1 ...
