Breast Cancer Awareness... Apr 24, 2011 at 6:33:14PM
Hi everyone! Not sure if anyone ever reads my blogs, but I thought I'd mention that the annual breast cancer awareness walk is coming up in September. It's a great cause and helps fund research that can save lives. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor. She was given the chance to try a new drug that was developed, and it was this new drug developed by funded research that saved her life. I encourage everyone to get involved if they can. It doesn't take much time and it's well worth it in the end. :-)
Silver lining... Apr 13, 2011 at 8:40:49PM
Oh how sweet it feels to be so close to finishing my Bachelors in Psychology. It seems like it has taken FOREVER, but of course it was well worth it. For all the students out there who are working hard towards a degree, don't give up!! It may be tough at times and sometimes it seems like you will never see the end of it, but you WILL! No one can ever take your degree away from you, it's your forever, and that is priceless! I hope that I can continue to inspire all of the other students out there, especially the one's that I can help with my tutorials! I don't know what the next step will be for me, but I know that with my degree finished I can hopefully start a career and get some of these student loans paid off!! Oh my, I don't even want to think about the loans...that's the not-so-good part of getting your degree. Good luck to all my fellow students who are working hard to continue their education and juggle all of life's stressors at the same time. I commend you all!!! :-) alisharenee05 Happy Holidays! Just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! I'm so very thankful for all the blessings in my life, and hope that everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas!

Thinking about becoming an RN! Aug. 24, 2010 at 09:26:22AM
As I mentioned in my first blog I recently started working in the adolescent psychiatric unit at our local hospital. Well, since I've been working there I've started thinking about going to school to become an RN. I already have my degree in Psychology, but getting my RN wouldn't take long because most of my credits will transfer!! It's still up in the air, but if I did become an RN on the psychiatric unit my salary would increase by almost half!! Sounds like a good idea to me! Everyone seems to think that nursing is a great field to go into because it is in high demand. I suppose it won't hurt to go for it! At least I'll always have something to fall back on if my career in Psychology doesn't go as planned. I'm going to start working on my application for nursing school today...wish me luck! First official blog post, yay! Aug 15, 2010 at 8:30:12PM
Well, I've decided to become a SoF blogger, woohoo! It took me a while to decide what I would even blog about, but I suppose I'll just write about whatever happens to be on my mind...lol. I recently got married (July 10th), and I couldn't be happier. Sometimes talking to people about "my husband" makes me feel really really old though...lol. I'm only 22, which I guess is a bit young for marriage according to some people, but I feel like I made the right decision, and that's all that matters in the end...right?!? I also recently started a new job, which I love! I'm working in an adolescent psychiatric unit at our local hospital, which is perfect considering that I'm planning on majoring in Psychology. I've only been there for a few weeks, but I can already see that I picked the right field as far as career choices go! Hmmm...guess that's it for now... Till next time. -alisharenee05 |
